Salon is located in historical building that was built in first half of 17th century as a priest`s house.
A priest’s house at Maza Pils street 6 was built in first half of 17th century as a part of Saint Jacob’s cathedral complex (Lutheran church at that moment).
This historical three-storied house is built in Baroque and Classicism style. The walls are erected in timber-framing technique. The house has tiled roof and still keeps ancient sash frames.
The house was reconstructed in 1733, when a second floor has been added. The left side of the house located horse stable and cart hall.
In late 19 century after a reconstruction made by H. Geigenmiller design the horse stable and cart hall were replaced with residential rooms (now hosting a shop). The house is still in excellent technical condition. Its modest charm and magic of romantically ancient courtyard combined with church walls perfectly fits with the architectural ensemble of the heart of Old Riga.
The house is a state monument of architecture No. 6547 (with Saint Jacob’s Cathedral).
